Private transfers from Schiphol
Schiphol is one of Europe's busiest hubs. Many passengers land after a long-haul connection with heavy suitcases, children or a meeting to reach. Benelux Limo transfers are booked per vehicle, not per seat, and the price you see includes VAT. You receive instant confirmation, and you can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before pickup.
Your driver tracks your flight. If you land late, the pickup is adjusted and the driver waits for you. The day before your transfer, we send you the driver's name, phone number and number plate, so you know exactly who to look for.
Choose the vehicle that fits your trip:
- Sedan for one to three passengers with standard luggage
- Minivan for families, small groups or extra bags
- VIP vehicle for business travel or a more comfortable ride
From Schiphol, we drive to central Amsterdam and to cities across the Netherlands and beyond, including Haarlem, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
Arriving at Schiphol: terminal, passport control and baggage
Schiphol works as one terminal building. Inside are several departure halls and arrival halls, numbered 1, 2 and 3. Every arrival hall opens onto Schiphol Plaza, the central public area with shops, cafés and the entrance to the railway station.
If you arrive from outside the Schengen area, for example from the UK, North America, Asia or the Middle East, you pass through passport control before reaching baggage reclaim. Queues can be long at peak times. Flights from Schengen countries usually skip passport checks. Once you have your bags, you walk through customs and exit into one of the arrival halls.
The arrival hall you use depends on your flight and where it parked, so you may not know it in advance. This does not matter for your transfer. All halls lead to the same Plaza, and your driver can see your flight details. Allow extra time between landing and meeting your driver on busy mornings, especially if you are travelling from outside Europe.
Drive times to Amsterdam and nearby cities
Schiphol sits next to the A4 and A9 motorways A4 and A9, with quick links to the A10 ring road around Amsterdam. Approximate drive times in normal traffic:
- Amsterdam centre (Dam Square, canal ring): 25–30 minutes
- Zuidas business district and the RAI convention centre: 15–20 minutes
- Museum Quarter and Vondelpark: 20–25 minutes
- Amsterdam Noord: 30–35 minutes via the IJ tunnels
- Haarlem: 20–25 minutes
- Zandvoort beach: 30 minutes
- The Hague: 40–45 minutes
- Utrecht: 35–40 minutes
- Rotterdam: 50–60 minutes
Rush hours on the A4 and A10 can add considerable time. They typically run from about 07:00 to 09:30 and 16:00 to 18:30 on weekdays. In the old centre, narrow canal-side streets and access restrictions can mean your driver drops you at the nearest accessible point rather than the front door. Tell us your exact address when booking so we can plan the route.
Public transport or a private transfer?
Schiphol has excellent public transport. The railway station lies directly beneath Schiphol Plaza, and trains to Amsterdam Centraal run frequently and take about 15–20 minutes. Direct trains also serve The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Leiden. A bus service, line 397, runs to the Museumplein and Leidseplein area.
For a solo traveller with a backpack staying near Centraal, the train is hard to beat. It becomes less convenient when:
- your hotel is not near a station and you need a tram or a long walk over cobbles with suitcases
- you are travelling with children, a pushchair or several large bags
- you land late at night, when services run less often
- you are heading somewhere without a direct rail link
Amsterdam's centre is also busy with cyclists. Pulling luggage across bike lanes and tram tracks after a long flight is not much fun. A private transfer takes you door to door, with your bags loaded for you and a fixed price agreed in advance.
Where to meet your driver
Your driver waits for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. Once you have collected your luggage and passed through customs, walk out into the arrivals area and look for your name among the waiting drivers.
Schiphol has a well-known Meeting Point on Schiphol Plaza near Arrivals 2, marked with a large red-and-white sign. If you exit into a different hall and cannot see your driver straight away, this is a useful landmark. Do not leave the building to look for the car outside.
The day before your transfer, you receive the driver's name and phone number. Keep your phone switched on after landing. If baggage reclaim or passport control takes longer than expected, you can send a quick message. Because the driver follows your flight, a delay does not mean losing your transfer.
Once you meet, your driver helps with your luggage and walks you to the vehicle in the nearby car park.
Travelling with family or a group
Arriving with children, grandparents or a group of colleagues is far simpler when one vehicle collects everyone together. You also avoid splitting up across trains and trams.
A minivan is the usual choice for families and small groups. It has room for passengers plus suitcases, pushchairs and bulky items such as golf bags or bicycle boxes. Let us know about any extra luggage when you book so we can assign the right vehicle. For larger parties, you can book more than one vehicle on the same booking reference so everyone leaves the airport together.
If you are heading to a conference at the RAI or a company event in Zuidas, a VIP vehicle gives you a quiet space to prepare on the way. If you have meetings in several places during your stay, you can also book a chauffeur by the hour, so one driver takes you from appointment to appointment.
Because the price is per vehicle rather than per person, a shared transfer for a family or group is often a practical alternative to buying several train tickets and then finding taxis for the last stretch.
