Private transfers from Brussels Airport
Brussels Airport serves both Belgium's capital and much of the surrounding region. Many arriving passengers are not heading only to the historic centre. They are also going to the European Quarter, to business parks along the Ring, or to cities such as Leuven, Antwerp, Mechelen and Ghent.
With Benelux Limo you book one vehicle for your whole party at a fixed price per vehicle, VAT included. You receive instant confirmation, and you can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before pickup. The day before you travel, we send the driver's name, phone number and number plate, so you know exactly who to look for.
Your driver tracks your flight. If it lands late, they adjust and wait rather than leaving on the original schedule. You can choose from three vehicle types:
- Sedan for individual travellers and couples
- Minivan for families and small groups with luggage
- VIP vehicle for executives, delegations and special occasions
You can also book a chauffeur by the hour if your day includes several meetings around Brussels. Airport lounge access is available to add to your trip at selected terminals.
Arriving at Brussels Airport
Brussels Airport has a single terminal building with two piers. Pier A handles flights within the Schengen area. Pier B handles non-Schengen flights, such as those from the UK, North America, Africa and the Middle East Pier A Schengen, Pier B non-Schengen.
If you arrive from outside Schengen, you will pass through passport control before reaching baggage reclaim. At busy times, particularly when several long-haul flights land together in the morning, these queues can take a while. Allow for this when you think about timings. You don't need to do anything about it yourself, because your driver follows your flight's actual landing time.
After collecting your bags and passing through customs, all passengers come out into the shared arrivals hall on level 0. The railway station sits beneath the terminal on level -1. Bus stops and the taxi rank are outside the arrivals level.
The terminal is compact and well signposted in English, French and Dutch. It is usually a short walk from the baggage hall to the arrivals area where your driver will be waiting.
Drive times to Brussels and beyond
Brussels Airport sits right beside the Ring (R0) and the E40. That makes it quick to reach many destinations, but rush-hour traffic around the capital can be heavy, especially on weekday mornings and late afternoons. Typical journeys in normal traffic:
- Brussels city centre (Grand-Place, Central Station area): about 12–15 km, 20–30 minutes
- European Quarter (Schuman, Luxembourg): about 12 km, 20–30 minutes
- Brussels-Midi / Brussels-South station: about 17 km, 25–35 minutes
- Leuven: about 20 km, 20–25 minutes
- Mechelen: about 20 km, 20–25 minutes
- Antwerp: about 40 km, 35–45 minutes
- Waterloo: about 30 km, 35–45 minutes
- Ghent: about 65 km, 50–60 minutes
- Bruges: about 110 km, 75–90 minutes
During peak hours, journeys into Brussels can take noticeably longer. Your driver will choose the most sensible route on the day. Because the price is fixed per vehicle, a slower journey does not change what you pay.
Public transport versus a private transfer
Brussels Airport has good public transport. Trains run from the station beneath the terminal to Brussels-North, Brussels-Central and Brussels-Midi in roughly 15–25 minutes. Train tickets from the airport include an extra airport station fee Diabolo supplement.
City buses also run from outside the terminal. One example is an express line towards the European Quarter STIB bus 12 to Brussels-Luxembourg. Regional buses serve nearby towns De Lijn.
Public transport works well if you travel light and your hotel is close to a main station. It is harder in other situations:
- You have large suitcases or children and must change trains or take a taxi from the station
- You are going to a hotel, office or home away from the main stations
- You land late at night, when services are less frequent
- Several of you are travelling together and want to stay together door to door
A private transfer takes you straight from the arrivals hall to your exact address. There are no ticket machines, platform changes or stairs with luggage. For groups, a single vehicle at a fixed price can also be a simpler way to travel than buying several tickets.
Where to meet your driver
Your driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. Every passenger enters this same public hall once they have collected their luggage and cleared customs single shared arrivals hall for Pier A and Pier B.
The day before your pickup, we send you the driver's name, phone number and the vehicle's number plate. Keep your phone switched on when you land. That way you can contact the driver if your baggage is delayed or you need a few extra minutes.
Your driver tracks your flight, so you do not need to update anyone if you land early or late. Take your time at passport control and baggage reclaim, then look for your name as you come through the doors. From there, your driver will help with your luggage and walk you to the vehicle.
Travelling with family or a group
Brussels draws many family visitors, school and sports groups, conference delegations and EU-related business travellers. Large parties often arrive with plenty of luggage. Booking by vehicle rather than by seat keeps everyone together, and the price stays the same however many passengers you bring within the vehicle's capacity.
A minivan suits families with pushchairs and several suitcases, or small groups heading to the same hotel. For delegations, wedding guests or executive visits, a VIP vehicle offers more space and comfort for the drive into the city or onward to Antwerp or Ghent.
If your group lands on different flights, consider booking separate transfers so nobody waits long in the arrivals hall. Please tell us the number of passengers and suitcases when you book, along with any bulky items such as golf bags or folding pushchairs. This helps us choose a vehicle with enough room.
