Private transfers from Rotterdam The Hague Airport
RTM is one of the smaller airports in the Netherlands, which works in your favour: walking distances are short and you can usually be outside soon after landing. What it lacks is a direct rail link, so getting to your final address normally means a bus, then a train, metro or tram. A private transfer removes those changes.
When you book with Benelux Limo you get:
- A fixed price per vehicle, VAT included, agreed before you travel
- Instant confirmation of your booking
- Flight tracking, so your driver waits if your flight lands late
- A meet-and-greet in the arrivals hall with a name sign
- Your driver's name, phone number and number plate sent the day before
- Free cancellation until 24 hours before pickup
Choose a sedan for one to three passengers with standard luggage, a minivan for families and groups, or a VIP vehicle for business travel and special occasions. The airport's position between Rotterdam and The Hague means transfers to either city are short, and longer journeys to Amsterdam, Antwerp or Brussels are just as straightforward to arrange.
Arriving at RTM: terminal, passport control and baggage
Rotterdam The Hague Airport has one passenger terminal, so there is no risk of your driver waiting at the wrong building. Arrivals are on the ground floor, and the route from the aircraft to the exit is short.
If you are arriving from a Schengen country, you will usually walk straight through to baggage reclaim. Passengers from outside the Schengen area, including the United Kingdom, pass through passport control first. Queues at a small airport tend to move steadily, but they can build when several non-Schengen flights arrive together, particularly during summer holiday peaks.
Baggage reclaim is a small hall with a handful of belts, and after collecting your bags you pass through customs and into the public arrivals area. This is where your driver will be waiting. Because your driver tracks your flight, there is no need to rush or to message ahead if passport control or baggage takes longer than expected. If you have oversized items such as golf bags, prams or bicycles, mention them when booking so the right vehicle is sent.
Drive times to Rotterdam, The Hague and beyond
RTM sits in the Overschie area of Rotterdam, close to the A13 motorway, which links Rotterdam with Delft and The Hague. In normal traffic, typical journey times are:
- Rotterdam Centraal and the city centre: about 15–20 minutes, 6–8 km
- Kop van Zuid and the Erasmus Bridge area: about 20–25 minutes
- Cruise Terminal Rotterdam: about 20–25 minutes
- Delft: about 15 minutes, 10 km
- The Hague centre: about 25–30 minutes, 20 km
- Scheveningen beach: about 30–35 minutes
- Schiphol Airport: about 45–55 minutes, 55 km
- Amsterdam centre: about 60–75 minutes
The A13 and the Rotterdam ring road can be slow during weekday rush hours, roughly 07:00–09:30 and 16:00–18:30. If you have a meeting or a ship departure to make, allow extra time at those hours. Your driver knows the local routes and will choose the most sensible one on the day.
Public transport or a private transfer?
There is no train station at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The main public transport option is a city bus, RET line 33, which runs to Rotterdam Centraal in roughly 20–25 minutes. Travellers heading for The Hague can take a bus to Meijersplein metro station and continue on metro line E, or travel into Rotterdam Centraal and change to a train. You can pay with a contactless bank card on most routes check-in and check-out required.
This works well if you are travelling light and staying near a stop. It becomes harder when you have large suitcases, young children, an early or late arrival, or a destination away from the main lines, such as a business park, a residential area of Wassenaar or the cruise terminal.
A private transfer takes you door to door with no changes, no ticket machines and no waiting at bus stops in the rain. For two or more people, a fixed price per vehicle often compares well with buying individual tickets plus a taxi for the last stretch, and you know the cost before you land.
Where to meet your driver and travelling as a group
Your driver will be waiting in the public arrivals hall, just past the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. Because RTM has a single, compact arrivals area, you will see the waiting drivers as soon as you come through the doors. The day before your transfer you receive your driver's name, phone number and the vehicle's number plate, so you can call if you cannot spot each other.
The vehicle is usually parked a short walk away in the short-stay car park or pick-up zone in front of the terminal. Your driver will help with luggage on the way.
For families, a minivan gives room for suitcases, pushchairs and car seats in one vehicle, so nobody has to split up. Let us know the ages of any children when booking so the journey can be planned properly. Larger groups, such as business delegations, wedding guests or sports teams, can book several vehicles with coordinated pickups from the same flight. A VIP vehicle suits executives heading to meetings in The Hague's government and international quarter or Rotterdam's business districts, with a quiet, comfortable ride straight from the terminal.
